SEATTLE, September 8, 2021 – Seabourn, The Ultra-Luxury Cruise Line, Continues To Work With Various Global Government And Port Officials To Develop Plans For A Full Return Of Cruise Travel. Seabourn Has Updated The Restart Of One Of Its Remaining Ships, Seabourn Quest, In Time For The Summer Season In The Mediterranean On May 10, 2022.
The ship will resume service in Europe, where it will spend its summer 2022 season homeporting from Venice, Italy. Seabourn Quest will visit the historic countries in the Adriatic and Ionian seas through mid-July before turning west and north to explore coastal destinations across Spain, Portugal, France and the United Kingdom.
“We look forward to welcoming our guests back on board Seabourn Quest in time for summer 2022 travel, where we will have so much to offer in the Mediterranean,” said Josh Leibowitz, president of Seabourn.
The revised restart date also means the brand is cancelling the 2021-2022 Antarctica and South America season on Seabourn Quest, which also includes the Amazon region. The line is currently operating two of the five ships in its fleet, Seabourn Odyssey and Seabourn Ovation.
SEATTLE, June 16, 2021 – Seabourn, the ultra-luxury cruise line, continues to work with various government and port officials to develop plans for a full return to cruising. As a result of the current environment and travel restrictions that remain in place, the brand is updating travelers on the restart dates for the five ships currently in its fleet.
Based on these latest revisions, the Seabourn fleet restart is now planned as follows:
“We continue to assess the overall global situation so we can make thoughtful, logical decisions about when each of our ships will restart,” said Josh Leibowitz, president of Seabourn. “We know guests are beginning to restart travel on some level in their personal lives and we look forward to seeing them again as soon as possible, starting as early as this summer in Greece and the Southern Caribbean.”
Seabourn Encore and Seabourn Ovation will not sail in Asia, Arabia or Australia for the 2021-2022 fall or winter/spring seasons due to continuing limitations in travel throughout those regions. As such, the brand is cancelling select departures on Seabourn Encore and Seabourn Ovation between September 1, 2021 – April 26, 2022 to align with the overall restart plan.
Following the summer season in the Greek Isles, Seabourn Ovation will now sail a selection of departures originally scheduled to operate on Seabourn Sojourn from Oct. 9 - December 21, 2021. The ship will then begin the new year by operating 12 brand-new sailings in the Caribbean/Panama Canal and Europe from January through May 2022 before resuming its originally planned deployment in the Western Mediterranean. These new Seabourn Ovation sailings will be open for booking on July 8, 2021. This will be the first time Seabourn Ovation will call on the United States.
Guests and travel advisors with impacted bookings will receive information on rebooking, alternative sailing date options, opportunities for bonus future cruise credits or full refunds. Specific offers and details vary by itinerary. Seabourn asks guests and travel advisors to use the online resources available on its website first rather than calling the Reservation Call Center for information about the cancellations due to the possibility of high call volumes and the potential of long on-hold wait times.
The upcoming summer 2021 voyages on Seabourn Ovation and Seabourn Odyssey are open to any guests that are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Seabourn intends for all team members working on board for these voyages to be fully vaccinated and is actively implementing plans to meet that goal. Specific vaccination requirements for other itineraries in 2021 and beyond will be finalized closer to the sailing date in coordination with the respective destinations.
Operation of the upcoming Winter/Spring Antarctica Season, the 2022 World Cruise, and other upcoming deployments are subject to change due to travel restrictions.

SEATTLE, February 24, 2021 – Seabourn, the ultra-luxury cruise line, is maintaining its optimism for the ultimate restart of travel while, in the meantime, continuing to take a practical approach in extending its current operational pause. As a result of the Canadian Transport Ministry’s Interim Order that closed Canadian ports and waters to passenger vessels, the brand is cancelling its 2021 Alaska/British Columbia departures.
The cancellation announcement applies to a total of 19 voyages scheduled aboard Seabourn Odyssey in summer 2021 between Vancouver, Canada and Juneau, Alaska, including one Pacific Coast voyage at the end of the season.

February 5, 2021 — Given the unexpected length of the order, it will take us some time to assess whether there are any options to preserve a portion of the 2021 Alaska season. While we await further information, we have (temporarily) stopped selling 2021 Alaska/British Columbia cruises and one Pacific Coastal voyage which call on Canadian ports.
February 4, 2021 — We are disappointed to learn about Canada’s decision to extend the interim order that prohibits cruise ships from sailing in its waters and calling on Canadian ports through February 2022 (one year from now). This extension, if not amended as pandemic conditions improve, or through action by U.S. authorities, would require us to cancel our Alaska (West Coast) and Canada / New England (East Coast) cruise vacation seasons this year. Given the unexpected length of the order, it will take us some time to assess whether there are any options to preserve a portion of the 2021 Alaska season.
We will be consulting authorities in both the U.S. and Canada before we take any additional action. Our highest responsibility and top priorities include operational and environmental compliance, protecting the environment, and the health, safety and well-being of our guests, the communities we visit, and our crew and shoreside employees. The cruise industry has demonstrated its commitment to health and safety through the development of extensive protocols in consultation with a panel of world-class medical experts, which will be implemented when we resume service. In addition, we recognize our importance to the economic health of many Alaskan communities and will continue to pursue any option which might permit safe operation of any portion of the season.
Though our cruise program is currently uncertain, we will continue to maintain a focus on what we can do to support our fellow Alaska businesses, the thousands of people who rely on the tourism industry, and the regions in which we operate.
While this is beyond our control, we remain committed to operating any portion of our Alaska season and we are hopeful that positive progress relative to the pandemic accelerates to the point that the Canadian Transport Minister will rescind the interim order and allow cruise vacations to resume in 2021.

Stay tuned for releases of alternative voyage options in the months ahead as conditions permit.”

The announcement applies to Seabourn Ovation, Seabourn Encore, and Seabourn Quest with each ship having a different “effective through” date. Specific details are as follows:
Seabourn is also announcing a revised delivery date for its new ultra-luxury purpose-built expedition ship, Seabourn Venture, which is now scheduled for December 1, 2021. The delay is because of shipyard closures at T. Mariotti earlier this year as part of responses to COVID-19, which resulted in disruptions to the overall construction and finishing process for the ship.
The brand announced that Seabourn Quest will operate the line’s 2021-2022 award-winning Antarctica experience. Seabourn Venture will debut in December 2021 with a series of first-ever “Norwegian Winter” voyages where they may be able to see the Northern Lights. Details about the revised inaugural season for Seabourn Venture are currently being finalized and will be announced in October. The brand has opened a wait list for guests interested in the voyages from December 2021 to April 2022. Guests currently booked on the inaugural voyage for Seabourn Venture will be offered the opportunity to sail on the new inaugural itinerary on a priority basis before it is open for sale to the general public. Additional details on rebooking for other affected Seabourn Venture voyages will be shared with booked guests and travel advisors in mid-October.
Due to the redeployment of Seabourn Quest to Antarctica, the line is cancelling Seabourn Quest’s Panama Canal voyages scheduled for November 7 - December 19, 2021.

We recognize the long lead time for planning an ultra-luxury Seabourn experience and with that in mind, we proactively announce the cancellation of these additional voyages,” said Josh Leibowitz, president of Seabourn. “We are working very closely with science and medical advisors as well as our source and destination markets to develop protocols for the ultimate return to operations.”

Seabourn Cruise Line has cancelled these upcoming voyages:
The decision comes out of an abundance of caution considering the highly dynamic and unpredictable changes we have seen recently in travel restrictions and port operations that could affect the cruise. While we expect things will stabilize, we never want to put our guests in the position of having an experience that doesn’t live up to their expectations.
Guests who were booked on this voyage will receive a refund of the fare paid for their voyage, as well as any prepaid purchases made through Seabourn including flights, pre- and post-cruise hotel packages, and shore excursions. Because the cruise was cancelled close to the departure date, guests will also receive a future cruise credit. Guests and travel advisors are being notified.
We continue to assess the situation and will provide a further update on future voyages as we have more information.
For more information, visit the Seabourn website. Guests who have questions should contact their travel advisor or the appropriate Seabourn Office in their market.

Seabourn Cruise Line has cancelled the next voyage on Seabourn Ovation. The decision comes out of an abundance of caution considering the highly dynamic and unpredictable changes we have seen the past couple of weeks in travel restrictions and port operations that could affect the cruise. While we expect things will stabilize, we never want to put our guests in the position of a having an experience that doesn’t live up to their expectations.
Seabourn Ovation was due to depart Singapore on February 15, 2020 for a 14-day round trip cruise. We have had no known or suspected cases of coronavirus on board.
Affected guests will receive a refund of the fare paid for the 14-day voyage. Guests and travel advisors are being notified and those guests in Singapore will be hosted in local hotels while they rebook their onward travel. While this decision will be disappointing for our guests, we feel they will understand the commitment to continue to work closely with the health authorities because we share a common goal of looking after the safety and well-being of our guests, crew and the places we visit.
We continue to assess the situation and will provide a further update on future voyages in Asia once we have more information.”
For guests booked on Seabourn Ovation in Asia, in light of new restrictions throughout the region on travelers coming from Hong Kong, disembarkation on Saturday, February 29 (departed on February 15) will now take place in Singapore rather than Hong Kong. Guests who have purchased their air through Seabourn’s Flight Ease will have their return flights rebooked to depart from Singapore rather than Hong Kong at our expense. Guests with independent travel arrangements should rebook their air to depart from Singapore’s Changi Airport no earlier than 12:30 PM on Saturday, February 29. Guests arriving for the February 29, 2020 voyage aboard Seabourn Ovation should also rebook their travel to depart from Singapore rather than Hong Kong. Please be sure your inbound flights do not route though any city in mainland China, Macau or Hong Kong.
All sailings aboard Ovation in Asia from the February 15 departure through March 14 will not visit China, including Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau. Itinerary revisions and related policies for these cruises, where necessary, will be communicated to guests and their travel advisors. Similar policies as noted above will apply for guests with Flight Ease, independent air and Seabourn pre- and post-cruise hotel arrangements.
