The Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, nestled between, mountains, forest and sea near the southern tip of Africa, offers a luxurious eco-reserve experience. With 740 acres if pristine wilderness, it boasts over 23 mammal species and 100 endangered plant species. Grootbos Post-Cruise Itinerary Overview

3 Nights 4 Days

Day 1 - Onboard the ship, you’ll receive specific departure instructions.Look out for Seabourn/ Grootbos representative shoreside representatives in the terminal—they’ll guide you to the appropriate transportation. You’ll then be transferred Grootbos Private Game Reserve.

En route, indulge in a delightful wine and food pairing at the charming Wortelgat Restaurant located within the Springfontein Wine Estate, or a venue of similar caliber.

Upon reaching Grootbos Private Game Reserve, settle into the luxurious embrace of Forest Lodge, where your suite awaits. The rest of your day is free for relaxation or, if you’re inclined to more activity, choose from a variety of included pursuits: horseback riding, a Botanical Fynbos Hike, a trek through the Milkwood Forest, a 4x4 Flower Safari, a coastal drive for whale watching, or an exploration of the ancient Kilpgat Cave and Walker Bay Nature Reserve. When hunger strikes, choose from one of the two unique lodge restaurants at Grootbos for an exquisite dining experience. Each offers a distinct character and ambiance that promises to enhance your culinary journey. Please ensure to secure your reservation upon your arrival.

Day 2 - Awaken to a sumptuous breakfast at your lodge, setting the stage for a day of exploration with a Private Cape Agulhas Guided Tour, complete with convenient transfers. Savor the essence of the region with a visit to select wine farms, where you’ll taste an array of 12 to 16 premium wines, complemented by a specially curated Cape Winelands picnic lunch.

Journey through the southernmost wine territory of South Africa, Cape Agulhas, where a select group of boutique wineries brave the harsh maritime elements. The soil here tells a story of a time, 900 million years ago, when this land was connected to Antarctica. Today, it stands alone, bathed in some of the purest air on the planet, which intensifies the flavors of the exquisite Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, and Syrah produced in this region.

As evening falls, dine at Grootbos, where you can experience the culinary delights of one of the two unique lodge restaurants, each offering a distinctive ambiance. Be sure to make your dinner reservations upon arrival.

 

Day 3 - Embark on a marine odyssey right after your morning meal at the hotel. Set sail from Grootbos for an extraordinary Marine Safari Tour.

The Marine Big 5—whales, sharks, dolphins, seals, and penguins—await to grace you with their majestic presence. This is your chance to witness these magnificent creatures in their natural environment, engaging in their daily dance of life.

Board a specially designed eco-conscious vessel in collaboration with Dyer Island Cruises. Guided by seasoned marine biologists, you’ll have the opportunity to observe thousands of Cape Fur Seals soaking up the sun, search for the formidable Great White Sharks, and watch as playful bottlenose dolphins glide alongside the boat.

Day 4 - After enjoying a hearty breakfast at your hotel and completing the check-out process, a transfer will be arranged to the airport, timed perfectly with your flight schedule. For those with later departures, the hotel offers convenient luggage storage services.

Please note that the standard check-out time is at 11:00 am. However, if your flight is scheduled later in the day and you wish to retain your room longer, you may request an additional night’s stay for a guaranteed late check-out. This option is subject to availability and must be confirmed on a request basis.

 

Important notes - A minimum # of guests may be required for a tour to operate. Hotels and tour itineraries are subject to change. Intra-tour air carriers are subject to change.

Passport information is required for tours with intra-tour flights. Guests who do not provide this information 70 days prior to the start of the tour will not be allowed to participate in the tour.

Visas: Please check prior to arrival if a visa is needed. Seabourn does not obtain visas for guests. Visas are the responsiblity of the guests and guests need to obtain their own visas.

Guests are encouraged to pre-register via our website www.seabourn.com by choosing the ""My Booking"" heading, and selecting ""Online Guest Registration"" to log in and enter their passport and flight information.

Offical check-out time is 11:00pm. Late check-out is not included. If you have a late flight you may ask the hotel to check your bags while you explore the city on your own before its time to proceed to the airport for your flight.

This is an active tour and not meant for guests with mobility issues. If you are traveling with any medical devices, Seabourn and the airlines muct be advised 2 months in advance to confirm if your medical device is compliant.
