This 32-acre slice of paradise is located on the Marau Sound near Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands. It is privately owned, originally purchased in exchange for some ammunition by a party of Norwegian traders who operated a coconut plantation. Some of their gravestones are still to be found among the tall grasses. Today it is a luxury private resort, where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge vacationed in 2012.
