Departing from the port of Dover, you'll travel across the county of Kent, passing through some of the most beautiful stretches of countryside nestled in the corner of the South of England. Known as the Garden of England for hundreds of years, its rolling hills, country estates, fruit-filled orchards, and beautiful scenery make Kent one of the most sought-after locations to live in within the whole of the UK.
Board a train to experience the nostalgia of steam railways as you travel on the Kent & East Sussex Rail Line through the countryside of this rural area. The journey will take you through marshes, rich farmland, sheep-dotted landscapes, and valleys. After closing in the 1950s, the railway line was adopted by enthusiasts who have worked tirelessly to renovate, restore and reopen the track you ride today.
Enjoy a quintessentially British refreshment consisting of scones, clotted cream and jam with a pot of English breakfast tea. Steer clear of any heated discussions surrounding whether the cream or the jam should be applied first -- an unsettled argument between native Britons.
Once you have disembarked the train, enjoy a scenic drive back to the pier.
Please note: Dress in layers. This tour is available only to guests whose cruise does not begin or end in Dover.
