Start the tour with the scenic drive to Dubrava Falconry Center - the only center in Croatia where you can see different kinds of birds of prey. Located in the dense pine forest of Sibenik Dubrava, it is an inevitable place for those who want to taste the wilderness and adventure. There is a special program during which visitors can enjoy the beauty of falcon's fly and be eye to eye with these incredible sky hunters. For many years now, the center has been cultivating a variety of species of birds of prey. Great significance is given to the station for injured, sick, or hungry birds who need help. Enjoy refreshment before you return to the Sibenik.
As you stroll through the old town, your guide will enlighten you with the interesting history of the city. You’ll visit the Gothic Church of St Francis (outside visit only), which dates to the 14th century and features richly carved ceilings and altars. You’ll also pass the Church of St John and the Sibenik Theatre, built in 1870 and was the largest in the country at that time. Continue past the 16th century Town Hall and the former Dukes Palace, which is now the Museum of the City of Sibenik, before passing by St James’s Cathedral (outside visit only). This impressive structure is one of the most original architectural projects of the late Middle Ages and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. You may then choose to explore Sibenik further at your leisure before you turn back to the ship.
