Discover the charming village of Villefranche-sur-Mer. The village is dominated by the Saint Elme citadel, which dates from the 16th century.
Take a guided walking tour of the village, passing covered passagways and the pastel-colored facades of the ancient houses.
Next, you'll drive to Cap Ferrat -- a scenic peninsula -- and walk to the Villa Rothschild. This is the former residence of the Baroness Rothschild. Explore the Rothschilds' wonderful pink home, inspired by the Italian Renaissance palazzi and completely surrounded by a lovely 14-acre garden. Step inside the villa to explore its spectacular contents, including furniture dating from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance and the 18th century. The latter was the favorite period of the Baroness. Marvel at the outstanding collection of French and German porcelain from Sèvres, Vincennes and Meissen, along with a wide array of other priceless treasures that have been amassed here.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. The visit to the villa requires about 1½ hours of walking and standing. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience.
