On the southern edge of the Gulf of Naples lies the Isle of Capri. Roman emperors Augustus and Tiberius found peace and beauty here. When you see Capri's impressive cliffs and brightly-colored villas, you will understand the island's universal appeal.
A 50-minute jetfoil boat ride on the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Naples brings you to Marina Grande, the Old Port that is lined with colorful fishermen's houses.
Board a local minibus for the 30-minute transfer to the town of Anacapri. The winding road climbs through vine-covered slopes of terraced gardens and stunning villas. Visit the Villa San Michele -- the beautiful home of Swedish physician and author Axel Munte. Several marble pieces acquired from the rubble of Tiberius' villa are on display here.
You'll have two hours of free time to visit Capri town at your own pace and to purchase lunch (at your own expense).
Re-join your minibus and head back to Marina Grande for the hydrofoil back to Naples.
Please note: Not advisable for guests with mobility limitations. Wear casual clothing and wear flat, comfortable walking shoes. Expect crowding at the jetfoil and minibus stations. Lunch is not included. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience.
