Visit Mon Repo Palace, built in 1828 for the second British High Commissioner of the Ionian Islands, Sir Frederic Adam, as a summer residence. The second son of King George I, George II was born here in 1869, and the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, was born and baptized here in 1921. The Greek Royal family spent their summer holidays at Mon Repo, hosting illustrious guests such as Tito of Yugoslavia, Haile Selasie of Ethiopia, and Nasser of Egypt.
Continue to Corfu Old Town and leave your coach at Esplanade square, considered to be Greece’s largest and most beautiful square.
