Lovely Alacati is a charming district in the region of Cesme -- a popular holiday resort prized location for country houses for the well-to-do of Izmir. In the past, this area had important military and agricultural significance. Stroll with your guide through the cobblestone streets, to admire the beautifully restored old houses and enjoy the Bohemian atmosphere. You'll hear about the history behind what you are seeing and you will visit the Aios Constantinos Church, built in 1874 and later converted to a mosque. Then, take the opportunity to mix with the locals at a teahouse as you enjoy a cup of Turkish tea accompanied by a type of cookie made only in this region. On your way back to Cesme, you will stop to snap some photos of picturesque Alacati Bay.
