Corsica is an unspoiled island of majestic snow-capped mountains, deep gorges, cool pine forests, ancient hamlets perched on hillsides and dazzling beaches -- all in an area smaller than Connecticut. It's a walker's paradise, criss-crossed by ancient footpaths and mule tracks.
Your hike will take place near Ajaccio, between the Sanguinaires Islands and Capo di Feno. A coach will drop you off at the trail that leads to Parata Point, site of a Genoese watchtower. From there, a path leads you to the end of the point so you can admire the Sanguinaires Islands and access the beaches of Capo di Feno. The turquoise waters and wild landscape make this place a favorite with surfers and it is guaranteed to make you feel as if you are miles away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Enjoy the outdoor aspect of the island and discover its extreme contrasts.
You will be led by a certified hiking instructor. (S)he will provide a bit of commentary as you breathe in the perfume of the vegetation, absorb the amazing color palette and appreciate the contrasting landscapes that have earned Corsica its favorable reputation.
Enjoy 1 hour of free time on the wild beach before you head back along the trail to the coach.
Please note: Wear sturdy walking shoes. The hike is weather dependent. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, sunscreen and a hat.
