Raised from the humble surroundings of a fishing village just over a century ago, Dar es Salaam blossomed into one of the most beautiful seaside capitals. Board your coach at the pier and drive through the city of Dar Es Salaam with a short history of the city from your guide.
The first stop is the Village Museum which is located approximately 10 km along Bagamoyo Road and has a collection of authentically constructed traditional houses of various Tanzanian tribes. It displays several distinct architectural styles with building materials ranging from sand, grass, and poles to mud and rock. On certain days, villagers demonstrate their ancient skills of carving and weaving and offer their products for sale.
After an enjoyable visit, we travel to the Kunduchi Ruins site, which is the ancient harbor, a historic and archeological site dating from the 8th to 18th centuries. The site provides pieces of evidence of Afro-Arabic sultan tombs, which local people named "Shirraz" whereby researchers and historians call them "Swahili " and agreed together as "The highest Peak of Swahili civilization" along the East African Coast Kunduchi sultan tombs have different characteristic and qualities because of their period designs uniqueness and styles.
Swahili civilization heritage, Kunduchi as an ancient port, used to be a market point for selling or exchanging goods from the far east, middle east, and Arabia. Countries involved in these exchange activities were Oman, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, and Africa. These movements and interactions resulted in the evolution of Swahili culture
After the tour, enjoy a Swahili buffet lunch set at the ruins with a short demonstration from the chef while lunch is served, in traditional Swahili style, enjoy local traditional Swahili dancing.
After lunch, the art lesson from local Tinga-Tinga painting is included along with the small gift.
