Spend the morning exploring Auckland, the City of Sails, with a small group for a more personalized experience. The afternoon is all about tasting some of New Zealand's best wine, sampling local food, and taking in the in the dramatic scenery of Auckland's west coast.
You'll travel up Queen St, through Auckland's central business district, and past Auckland University. Pause within the inner-city park simply called The Domain and take photos here.
Pass through the picturesque suburb of Ponsonby, known for its historic buildings, and cross Auckland's iconic Harbour Bridge en route to the North Shore.
A stroll on Narrow Neck Beach in historic Devonport introduces you to this pretty suburb, then you'll head to the summit of Mt Victoria for stunning panoramic views of Auckland and the Waitemata Harbour.
Back cityside, check out Westhaven Marina -- the largest marina in the Southern Hemisphere.
Leave behind the bustle of Auckland and head northwest to taste the flavors of the Kumeu Wine Country -- Auckland's heritage wine region.
Soljans Vineyard has won many awards for their still and sparkling wines. Enjoy lunch at the contemporary vineyard restaurant here and sample world-renowned wines. The winery is built with sunshine in mind and serves Mediterranean-style food with a New Zealand twist, showcasing fresh seasonal produce from around the region. Equally marvelous is the rugged, surf-fringed coastline nearby.
Next to tempt the taste buds is West Brook Winery. The cellar door (tasting room) looks across an idyllic duck pond and terraced picnic area to the vines. The premium wines reflect true varietal character and their unique regional origins.
Your final tasting is at Coopers Creek vineyard, offering a wide variety of wines with some fun and adventurous blends.
Change it up with a visit to one of the few mainland gannet nesting sites in the world. At the wild, black sand beach of Muriwai on the Tasman Sea, observe gannet behavior up close without disturbing the birds' natural environment.
