A short transfer brings you to the foot of Quassussuaq Mountain. From here, set off on your hike around the mountain, which is the ski resort in Nuuk in the winter months but in summer is a hiker’s paradise.
After 10 to 15 minutes of walking through Paradise Valley, you will break out into the clean, untouched wilderness featuring streams and small lakes with magnificent views of the Nuuk Fjord system, the second largest in the world. From this viewpoint, pause for a moment and take in the panorama.
Begin your decent down towards the town of Malene Bay before reaching the new part of town, Qinngorput, where you will transfer back to the pier.
Please note: Please realistically assess your physical fitness and ability prior to booking, as the walk is uphill, over unpaved, rough walking tracks with many steps. Not advisable for guests with mobility limitations. The level of guide experience varies due to the remoteness of the location. Limited tourism infrastructure is part of the charm here, and you are trading breadth of experience for authentic interaction. Please bring your spirit of adventure and bear with any language difficulties your guide may encounter and with any operational surprises that may crop up. Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress in layers. Bring insect repellent; wear sunscreen. No guarantee is offered with regard to visibility or views on any particular day, as weather and atmospheric conditions vary and are beyond the tour operator’s control.
Please note: Minimum age is 12 years.
