Explore the Botlierskop Private Game Reserve, located in the malaria-free Western Cape of South Africa. This diverse reserve features woodlands, coastal fynbos, mountain fynbos, and renosterveld, providing a rich habitat for over 200 bird species and a variety of animal species. The Moordkuil River, a tributary to the Little Brak River, runs through the reserve, adding to the diversity of habitats for the large number of animal species and birdlife.
Embark on a guided game drive in 4x4 open vehicles, offering a safe and comfortable way to view African wildlife in its natural habitat. Encounter white rhinos, Cape buffalos, blue wildebeests, giraffes, Cape Mountain zebras, elands, and lions (within a 100 ha enclosure). Keep an eye out for other fascinating animals, including bonteboks, Cape bushbucks, common grey duikers, Cape grysboks, honey badgers, rock hyraxes, kudus, nyalas, porcupines, waterbucks, and steenboks.
After the game drive, return to the Day Visitors Centre and re-board the coaches for the transfer back to Mossel Bay.
Please note:
This tour is not suitable for guests in wheelchairs and those with walking difficulties. Guests must be able to climb in and out of the 4x4 open vehicles. Comfortable clothing, binoculars and a sun hat are strongly recommended. Temperatures on the day of operation can be extremely hot. The roads in the game reserve are gravel and parts of the game-drive can be bumpy. For safety reasons, no children under the age of 6 years allowed on the open vehicles. Guests are not permitted to use cellular phones during the game drives. They are also not permitted to speak loudly or stand up on the game drive vehicles, as this will disturb the animals. Smoking is not permitted during the game-drives. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed. Botlierskop does not have the rare leopard on the reserve and is therefore not a “Big 5” property.
