An exceptional fishing outing culminates in an unforgettable ocean-to-table meal in Southeast Alaska's premier fishing grounds. With breathtaking views, good fun, and wildlife in its natural habitat, today is shaping up to be rewarding and delicious.
Set out aboard a comfortable, heated, custom-built six-passenger fishing boat equipped with suspension seats and a spacious back deck.
As you head to the fishing grounds, keep your eyes peeled for humpback whales, orcas, sea otters, and bald eagles.
Your professional skipper will assist you and provide all the necessary fishing gear. Fish for Pacific salmon (in season) and bottom species such as halibut, rockfish, and ling cod at prime locations. Bottom-fishing is done by jigging bait off the ocean floor, typically in 100 to 300 feet of water, while the boat is on anchor or drifting in one area. Each fisherman has use of a rod and reel.
Head to a lodge at Port Saint Nicholas for plenty of time to relax indoors or outdoors while your chef prepares a delicious meal using your catch. Savor an appetizer, side dishes, and a delightful dessert while taking in the stunning views all around you.
You'll return to the pier via van transfer, completing an unforgettable day.
Please note: Tour sequence may vary. Minimum age is 14 years. Ride will be bumpy; guests who are pregnant and those with a back or neck condition are not allowed to participate. Terrain includes a marine ramp from the pier to the boat, which can be very steep at low tide. Wear sturdy non-skid walking shoes. Dress warmly in layered clothing with gloves, a scarf, and a hat; outer layer should be windproof and waterproof. A catch is likely but is not guaranteed. In this area, king salmon fishing starts in early June and peaks in the middle of July but remains strong throughout the summer. Silver salmon fishing starts around the beginning of July and runs through the end of August. Fish caught is eaten at the lodge, and additional fish options are added to the main dish. Any additional catch can be processed and shipped home within the USA for an additional charge arranged with the tour operator. The Alaska Department of Fish & Game implements conservation measures to protect king salmon; restrictions on keeping your catch may apply. Please check directly with the Alaska Department of Fish & Game for restrictions specific to your tour date. Only fish species that do not have restrictions in place can be shipped home or delivered to the ship.
