George Sranko

Naturalist and photographer George Sranko is passionate about wildlife exploration and shares his love of the natural world and wide-ranging research topics through riveting and often humorous presentations covering ecology, geography, natural history and culture.
 

George has an MA in environmental governance from Griffith University, Queensland and a BSc in biology from UBC in Vancouver. Over thirty-five years of professional experience as a naturalist with Canada’s National Parks and as a registered professional biologist culminated in his role as a senior consultant for terrestrial and marine strategies in British Columbia.
 

George’s photographs from the far corners of our planet have received more than twenty million views online. Close encounters with grizzly bears, erupting volcanoes, Komodo dragons, and trumpeting elephants have all added spice to the curious life of George. He lives in Victoria, BC, Canada with his wife and fellow adventurer, Jan.
