Enjoy a scenic 90-minute drive to a local village for an immersive cultural experience. Start your visit by paying a courtesy call to the paramount chief and village elders. Here, participate in a memorable naming ceremony and receive a traditional Ghanaian name amidst drumming and dancing. Don’t pass up the opportunity to join the villagers and showcase your dancing skills!
Watch a demonstration of pottery making, the main occupation of the women in the village, and kente weaving by the local youth. Visit the local school where you can interact with students and teachers and learn about some of the challenges faced in a rural educational setting.
After your incredible cultural experience, return to the pier, stopping in a local restaurant for lunch along the way.
Please note:
Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Bring local currency, as many vendors do not accept credit cards or US dollars. Limited tourism infrastructure is part of the charm here, and you are trading breadth of experience for authentic interaction. Please bring your spirit of adventure and bear with any operational surprises that may crop up. Wear sunglasses and sunscreen. Bring a hat.
