Depart the pier and head for the 'green heart' of Holland.
Here you will find the city of Gouda, best known for its delicious, mellow cheese, Gouda pipes, and St Jan's Church. Gouda became a city in 1272 and was flourishing by the 15th century due to its role in international trade. Nowadays, the city is also known for its candles and stroopwafels (cookies with syrup).
Stop at the market square, which features the oldest Gothic Town Hall in Holland. Part of the building dates back to the 15th century. The Weighing House, opposite the Town Hall, is built in neo-Classical style and dates back to 1688.
Don't miss the stained-glass windows of St Jan's Church, which tell the history of the diverse provinces of early Holland -- these are a must-see.
Walk back to the coach along the Catharina Gasthuis to return to Rotterdam.
Please note: This tour is available for all guests not disembarking in Rotterdam on this day. Tour does not operate on Sundays or holidays. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience.
