A 1.5-hour drive through Andalusia's countryside brings you to Spain's fourth-largest city. Seville is an impressive testament to the culture and sophistication of the Iberian Peninsula.
Your walking tour begins at the walls surrounding Barrio Santa Cruz -- the former domain of the Moors and Jews in the historic center of Seville. Surrounded by glorious, immaculately tended gardens, it is a respite of solitude that calms the soul.
Visit the impressive Cathedral of Seville with its Giralda -- a Moorish bell tower that is a Seville landmark.
Don't miss the magnificent King's palace -- the Alcazar -- a splendid structure in typical Moorish style. The palace is, in fact, a monument to the Moorish occupation of Spain, with incredible detail in the stone and in the architecture that is simply breathtaking.
Enjoy some free time to purchase lunch (at your own expense), shop or explore on your own. Time permitting you will stop briefly at the Plaza de España before you return to Cádiz.
Please note: The Alcazar is the official residence of the King of Spain when he is in Seville and it is subject to closure at any time, in which case Casa Pilatos will be substituted. Travel time to Seville is approximately 1½ hours each way. Wear comfortable walking shoes. The cathedral is also subject to closure at short notice due to religious services. Cameras and video are not allowed in the cathedral. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience.
