Sainte-Rose owes its name to St Rose of Lima, the patron saint of the Americas, the Philippines, Peru and the city of Lima. Huddled up against a mountainside in northern Basse Terre, this charming town offers kayaking in the Grand Cul-de-Sac Lagoon.
Discover the mangrove forest, and the barrier reef with its wealth of tropical fish and marine birds. You'll see and appreciate the different ecosystems- which home different species of bird (herons, frigate birds and others), while the shallows are populated by large starfish, sea urchins and sea cucumbers.
Please note: This is a strenuous activity and guests must be able to keep up with the kayak guide.
