Adventurous souls will want to explore the beauty of Saguenay Fjord on this thrilling Zodiac expedition.
To start today's adventure, transfer from the pier in La Baie to Saguenay National Park -- a 60-minute scenic drive.
An approximately 800-yard walk brings you to the water's edge for a safety briefing. Then, you're hopping into the Zodiac for a 1.25-hour boat journey across the dark waters of the fjord. This area is bounded by high rocky capes that dive just as steeply below the surface.
There is an air of mystery to Saguenay Fjord -- you can't help wondering what might be hidden beneath these black waters. Although it seems very calm at the surface, the fjord is teeming with aquatic life. It is a haven for numerous species of fish and marine invertebrates. Learn about the geological, biological, and morphological development of the fjord as you glide by the impressive landscapes and towering cliffs of this natural wonder.
Back on land, you will have some free time at the Saguenay National Park Visitor Centre to browse in the gift shop.
Please note: Transportation to the park is by school bus and is shared between all park activities. Dress warmly in layered clothing with gloves, a scarf, and a hat; outer layer should be windproof and waterproof.
