A visit to Puerto Princesa is not complete without cruising the islands aboard a motorized banca.
A leisurely 30-minute drive north of the city brings you to Santa Lourdes Wharf, where you will embark on an island-hopping boat tour around Honda Bay. Choose from several charming white sand beaches on the bay where you can swim, snorkel (bring your own equipment) or just take in some sun. Among the more popular islands you will visit are Cowrie Island named after the small-to-large sea snail, marine gastropod mollusc they called it "cowrie".
Depending on the tide level you will be given a chance to visit Luli Island was called because of its feature wherein it is the only island at Honda Bay that sinks and rises with tide. Luli means "Lulubog , Lilitaw " during high tide , you will only be seeing the structures built on it which would seem like they are floating. Likewise, everything would surface during low tide.
Please note:
Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, a cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Limited tourism infrastructure is part of the charm here, and you are trading breadth of experience for authentic interaction. Please bring your spirit of adventure and bear with any language difficulties your guide may encounter and with any operational surprises that may crop up. If it is high tide in Luli Island, we will extend the visit at Cowrie Island.
