Travel 90 minutes to Uluwatu Temple, stopping en route at a ceramics house that produces stunning pieces for both the domestic and export market. Take your time browsing in case there is a piece here that calls your name. You’ll also have a chance to witness the process of crafting these beautiful works. Next, continue to the southernmost part of the island where the Temple of Uluwatu stands high atop a cliff overlooking the ocean. This temple is among the six most important temples in Bali and is held quite sacred by the Balinese people. Keep a sharp eye out for the very uninhibited "locals"—macaque monkeys whose ridiculous antics will keep you enthralled and on your toes. You’ve worked up an appetite; now head to Jimbaran Bay, where hundreds of fishing boats take to the water every evening. The views of this bay are simply stunning—matched only by the delicious and colorful seafood dinner served here. The evening atmosphere, when the sun is setting, is very romantic indeed.
