Enjoy the ambience of the magnificent, first ever Theatre of the Gambia, take a seat in the theatre while you enjoy the real beat of Africa through its drumming, dancing and play.
You will experience a traditional short play that gives you an insight into the local customs, culture and traditions.
On arrival you will be welcomed with local drink before a tour of the theatre itself. A gallery displays the work of various Gambian artists, including the well-known Njogu. Some of the paintings are up for sale.
Enjoy the day’s performance and the following drumming and dances. You will be invited to join, so don’t forget your dancing shoes.

Some plays from Africa can be very emotional, however they will always give you the true account of what happened or how it came about. Take along your cameras, hand fan (if you have one), wet wipes and dancing shoes if you would like to join the dance.
