Experience northern Norway's pristine natural beauty and abundant bird life during this memorable cruise to the Stappan Islands.
Admire beautiful landscapes and scenery during a scenic drive toward Gjesvær, a fishing village on the western edge of Magerøy Island. Here, you'll board a sightseeing boat and begin your cruise into the Gjesværstappan Nature Reserve, approximately nine miles west of North Cape.
From the boat, observe various birds, including the largest colony of puffins in Finnmark. The puffins nest in the grassy hills and are easy to recognize with their black and white plumage, stocky build, and bright orange beaks. You may also spot mighty white-tailed eagles hovering overhead as they hunt for prey. Guillemots, razorbills, cormorants, Arctic skuas, fulmars and gannets are also part of the flourishing bird life at Gjesværstappan.
This is a great opportunity to learn about the incredible variety of birds and other animals that live in the remote north.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Dress warmly in layers with gloves, a scarf, and a hat; outer layer should be windproof and waterproof. Guests prone to motion sickness should consider this before booking and/or take appropriate medication. Tour operates rain or shine but may be canceled by the operator in the event of extremely bad weather or unsuitable conditions. The boat is restroom-equipped.
