Vis can rightly be called the cradle of Croatian viticulture. Enological tradition has been cherished and propagated here for more than 2,500 years. Relevant historical sources indicate that the ancient Greeks planted the first vine in Dalmatia in a Vis field when Vis was the ancient Greek colony of Issa.
Today, visit the Senjanovic family, whose winemaking tradition began more than 150 years ago. Thanks to the army, which has been drilling tunnels on the island for decades, the Senjanovics' cellar is the only one in the world to be located inside a military tunnel. Its climatic properties and darkness provide ideal conditions for storing wine.
Enjoy a tasting consisting of three wines and local Dalmatian foods, such as fish paté, salted and marinated anchovies, cheeses, olives, capers, bread and olive oil.
Return to the pier at the end of your visit.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring credit cards or local currency if you wish to purchase wine or local products. Minimum age is 18 years.
