Drive to the medieval city of Betanzos and set off on a guided walking tour through narrow streets admiring the traditional classic houses on your way to the top of the hill and the Church of San Francisco. Dating from the 14th century, this gothic church is home to the tomb of Fernan Perez de Andrade, a medieval knight; whose coffin is decorated with the figures of a boar and a bear, his coat of arms.
Continue to Pazo de Mariñan, an old Galician Manor where you will visit the splendid French style gardens, featuring the oldest eucalyptus in Galicia, brought from Australia in the 18th century.
After your garden visit, head to a local restaurant where you will enjoy a tasting of traditional tapas paired with a variety of local wines before returning to Ferrol.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes and clothes. Participants must negotiate stairs and/or uneven surfaces and is therefore not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations.
