Spain's fourth-largest city, Seville is an impressive testament to the culture and sophistication of the Iberian Peninsula. A 1½-hour drive through Andalusia's countryside brings you to this stunning city whose ancient walls typify Andalusian architecture.
Upon arrival in Seville, enjoy a panoramic drive through the city that orients you to the main highlights. A walking tour through Barrio Santa Cruz introduces you to the romantic part of town that was the domain of the Moors and Jews. It is located right in the historical center of Seville. Surrounded by glorious, immaculately-tended gardens, this mystical setting offers a respite of solitude and tranquility that calms the soul.
You will then have approximately three hours of free time for exploring on your own. You may decide to visit the main highlights of the city, such as the impressive Cathedral of Seville, with its Giralda Moorish bell tower -- a Seville landmark. The nearby Alcazar is a splendid structure in typical Moorish style -- a monument to the Moorish occupation of Spain, with incredible detail in the stone that is simply breathtaking. Choose where to have lunch (at your own expense) and how to spend your time.
After this very pleasant time in Seville, return to Cádiz by coach to re-board the ship.
Please note: Travel time to Seville is approximately 1½ hours each way. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
