Lake Tekapo, a glacial blue gem in the heart of the South Island, is just one of the highlights of this unique tour.
We travel by coach through the varied farmland where you may see sheep, cattle, deer, and even free-range pig farms. There is time to enjoy a wander in the rural town of Fairlie, famous for its award-winning pies and the annual farming show.
We stop at a unique location called Three Creeks, where you can view NZ outdoor wooden furniture and metal sculptures, a visual delight with so much to discover.
Then we enter the famed Mackenzie Country, named after a sheep rustler in the 1800s. The sight of the large glacial blue lake then opens in front of you and we enjoy time at the iconic church built on the lake edge. Nearby a statue of a sheepdog signifies the role the dogs play in high country farming.
There is time for a relaxed light lunch with a great view down this stunning lake, followed by time to either sit and relax, or walk an easy trail from the lunch venue, before boarding the coach to return to the port.
Please Note:
Tour involves travelling over long distances in the coach, covering approximately 140 miles.
