Depart from the harbor in Tobermory on foot with your knowledgeable guide.
A coastal path leads away from the marina and climbs gently through the woodland along the Aros Park side of Tobermory Bay. You'll have fabulous views out to Calve Island, possibly even glimpsing some seals out on the skerries.
Follow the track to the old pier, where timber was once shipped from the Aros Estate for building and repairs in the town. You'll hear about the Allans -- a shipping family who gave a park to the people of Tobermory. The view from here back to Tobermory is quite colorful.
After bird-watching at the pier, head to Lochan a Ghurrabain. On a walk around this attractive small lake, you'll detour to see the old powerhouse and the Upper Falls. The woodland area consists of many shrub, fungus and tree species. In places, the park has a temperate rainforest feel to it, and many interesting ferns and grasses grow freely. However, the most spectacular display is created by the large number of Rhododendron ponticum.
Leaving the park, travel back in time to the Bronze Age with a view of the two Standing Stones of Baliscate before descending into Tobermory and returning to the ship.
Please note: Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, cobblestones, inclines, gravel, grass, and steps.
