The small medieval city of Norwich, off the beaten track, is one of England's best-kept secrets and a delightful place to visit. Today's walk allows you to explore the city's incredible heritage sites. Compelling architecture spanning 1,000 years rubs shoulders with modern technology.
Explore the cathedral district, where little has changed in hundreds of years. The surrounding area is criss-crossed with cobblestone streets lined with houses more than 500 years old. A great fire destroyed most of the even-older houses. The area includes Elm Hill -- a most atmospheric street.
Your walk will finish at Norwich Cathedral in the city center -- one of the finest complete Romanesque cathedrals in Europe. It boasts the second-tallest spire and the largest monastic cloisters in England.
Take advantage of some free time to shop or purchase a refreshment (at your own expense) before rejoining the coach for the journey back to Great Yarmouth.
Please note: Guides are not allowed to provide commentary inside the church on Sundays; an introduction is offered outside and you will view the inside on your own. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
