Built in 1514 Hampton Court was once home to several Kings of England including Henry VIII and is located on a beautiful stretch of the River Thames. On arrival at Hampton Court, you will have free time to see many of the wonderful features here, including Henry VIII’s Great Hall, the walls of which are hung with the King’s most splendid tapestries, the Story of Abraham. This hall is also one of Britain’s oldest theatres and it was here, in 1603, that William Shakespeare and his company the ‘King’s Men’ performed for James I. There is also an opportunity to see the Tudor Kitchens, the Privy Gardens – now restored to how they would have looked in 1702 during the reign of King William III, the Royal Chapel – a glorious combination of outstandingly rich colors and layers of history. During your free time you could opt for a light lunch, (at own expense) at The Tiltyard Café, situated in Hampton Court Palace grounds, or at The Privy Kitchen, located inside the palace. Following the inspiring visit, rejoin the motor coach and travel to London Heathrow for your onward flight.
Please note: For guests with flights 5:15pm or later at London Heathrow airport.
