The Aegean village of Sirince, famous for wonderful vineyards and rich fruit wines, is a glimpse into the rural lifestyle of Turkey. Take time to stroll through the village and taste homemade fruit wines.
A panoramic drive enables views of the Great Theatre of Ephesus and the Statue of the Virgin Mary.
From Ephesus' Upper Gate, drive through the countryside of Kusadasi to the Yedi Bilgeler (Seven Sages) Vineyard. A stone château houses state-of-the-art winemaking facilities, set among lavender gardens, vineyards and a lush green valley. Learn about stages of the viticulture process as you tour the facility with a resident wine expert. In the cellar, you'll see the French oak barrels and taste a selection of locally-produced wine and cheese.
Sit down for lunch, enjoying some typical Turkish fare.
On the return journey to Kusadasi, you'll pause for refreshments and a optional carpet presentation as well as free time for shopping. If you prefer, you can return directly to the ship (within walking distance).
Please note: This tour does not include a visit to the Ephesus site -- only a panoramic photo stop overlooking the site. At Sirince Village, terrain is rough and uneven with broken pathways, marble ground, and cobblestones. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair.
