Go beyond the ordinary using a RIB (rigid inflatable boat) to explore Champagne Reef, a famous reef dive and snorkel location.
Perched on the edge of a submerged volcano, this reef is Dominica's number one snorkeling hot spot, and ranks among the top five snorkeling spots in the Caribbean. More than just a coral reef, it takes its name from the underwater geothermal springs that vent gasses in the form of thousands of warm effervescent bubbles rising from the ocean floor. You’ll feel as if you're swimming through a giant glass of sparkling wine – what could feel more luxurious than that?
The reef is quite spectacular – expect to see a myriad of vibrant sea life including sponges, lobster, parrotfish and a resident population of Hawksbill turtles. A PADI-certified guide will be on hand to facilitate the experience and explain everything. Enjoy the warm waters before the RIB ride back to shore.
Please note: Minimum age is 12 years. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, and a hat. Guests with heart conditions, epilepsy, diabetes or asthma are not allowed to participate in snorkeling. Waiver must be signed and medical conditions disclosed.
