A 90-minute coach transfer to the small settlement of Kaiteriteri showcases the Tasman region's panoramic farmland and coastal vistas. Watch for the orchards, hops farms, and vineyards of the Tasman region.
Upon arrival in Kaiteriteri, board the comfortable Vista Cruise catamaran from the golden sands of Kaiteriteri Beach. A 30-minute cruise takes you into Abel Tasman National Park -- a land and maritime park. Cruise past the islands in the sheltered waters of the Astrolabe Roadstead.
Enjoy your packed picnic lunch ashore.
Free time at Anchorage Bay - At Anchorage Bay you have time free to explore, you may choose to go swimming or take a leisurely stroll along the beach and explore further. There is a short easy walk 2 km alt 60m to Te Pukatea Bay, an enchanting golden sand cove, one of the most picturesque in the Park. Perfect for swimming.
Or for the active Take the Pitt Head loop Track: 3km alt 80m.Walk through sunny Kanuka Forest to Te Pukatea Bay via Pitt Head, the site of the ancient Maori pa (fortified village).
Views of the coast and evidence of earthworks are all that remain of this strategic site.
Return to the beach and your boat for the cruise back to Kaiteriteri and the coach back to Nelson.

Wear shoes that you don't mind getting wet. Minimum age is 12 years. Travel time to Kaiteriteri is 90 minutes each way. The route is winding in places. Guests who are prone to motion sickness should consider this before booking and/or take appropriate medication.
