Experience the vibrant marine life of Mayotte's lagoon from the comfort of a glass-bottom boat, and unwind on one of the island's pristine beaches. This protected marine park is a haven for sea life, offering you a unique opportunity to observe the underwater world without getting wet.
As you peer through the viewing panels, you'll be treated to a mesmerizing display of marine creatures, from schools of colorful fish to graceful green sea turtles. Watch for the striking blue-and-yellow striped emperor angelfish along the reef drops and the peachy-orange skunk clownfish nestled among the sea anemones, immune to their stinging polyps. You might even catch sight of a playful pod of dolphins or a gentle dugong gliding by.
When the boat anchors in a sheltered cove, take the chance to stretch out on the soft sand, soak up the sun, and enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters.

Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen. Marine sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. To avoid damage or loss, please leave all electronic devices and valuables onboard, as Holland America is not responsible for the loss, damage, or theft of these items. Towels are also available in your stateroom but please make sure to bring the ship towels back to the ship. The standard of transportation and level of guide experience may vary. Limited tourism infrastructure is part of the charm here and guides are often in training -- you are trading breadth of experience for authentic interaction. Please bring your spirit of adventure and bear with any language difficulties your guide may encounter and with any operational surprises that may crop up.
