Sandra Howard was a famous international model in the Sixties, and the only model to have appeared on the cover of American Vogue for two months in succession. She now writes novels as well as doing freelance journalism for the national UK press. Of her seven published novels one is a fictionalised account of some extraordinary experiences she had in the Sixties: meeting Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, Marilyn Monroe and also Jack and Jackie Kennedy while staying with the UK ambassador in Washington, which turned out to be a most momentous and historic occasion. Her latest novel, which is based on a true World War II story, is set mainly in Cairo and East Africa.
