Accra is the capital and most populous city of Ghana. This 144-year-old city is where urban meets traditional, where modern and colonial architecture stand side by side all nestled comfortably amidst the lush greenery of the city landscape.
Drive through the administrative and economic districts of Accra en route to the W.E.B DuBois Centre, the former home of renowned American Pan-Africanist, author and civil rights activist W.E.B. DuBois. It houses the DuBois mausoleum, personal library and museum containing his personal papers and books.
Head to a local restaurant for lunch before enjoying an orientation tour, passing the Artiste Alliance, Independence/Black Star Square and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park where you will stop for photos.
On your way back to the pier, stop at the local art center/market for some handicraft shopping.
Please note:
Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Bring local currency, as many vendors do not accept credit cards or US dollars. Wear sunglasses and sunscreen. Bring a hat. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
