Leaving the attractive town of Ullapool with its whitewashed houses, your first stop is at the Measach Falls in the Corrieshalloch Gorge.
Experience the Gateway to Nature Centre and explore this impressive venue whose architecture sublimely blends into the surrounding environment.
Then, wander along the accessible meandering pathway that leads to Corrieshalloch Gorge. This natural wonder, just a short journey from Ullapool, is home to the 150-foot Falls of Measach -- one of Scotland's finest waterfalls. Oddly, Corrieshalloch means Ugly Hollow. Cross the famous suspension bridge to the viewing platform for fantastic vistas of the gorge and falls.
Drive onward through Dundonnell Forest and northwest Highland scenery. The landscape appears harsh and unforgiving, but this place was inhabited 3,000 years ago when the mountains were covered with dense forest that was home to bears, wolves, and wild boar.
The tour skirts scenic Little Loch Broom and passes through crofting villages. From the hilltops, enjoy outstanding views over the Summer Isles just off the coast. Stop at Gruinard Bay for a stroll on the unspoiled and picturesque beach. Savor the views of this spectacular landscape.
Return to Ullapool taking in dramatic landscapes, coastal areas, and charming villages which make up this corner of the Scottish Highlands.
