In Trondheim city center, everything is within walking distance. The river Nid winds around the downtown area and defines its boundaries. On this guided tour, you will walk through the streets of Trondheim to sense the city's history that stretches from the Middle Ages to today’s high-tech society.
Leaving the new harbor area, you will pass by the Royal Residence Stiftsgården and cross the market square to the preeminent Olav Tryggvason statue in its center. The walk continues to Nidaros Cathedral, where you will visit inside. Afterwards, you’ll walk around the cathedral area toward the river bank. Heading back to the ship, you will cross the Old Town Bridge to get to the well-known part of the city called Bakklandet with its old wooden wharves standing along the waterfront.
Along the route, frequent photo stops will be made.
Please note: It is recommended you dress in layered clothing and wear proper close-toed shoes. Participants must be in good physical condition. Not recommended for wheelchair users. Total distance covered is approx. 5.5 km. A comfort stop will be available at Nidaros Cathedral.
