Hellesylt is a charming fjord village on the Sunnylvsfjorden, a branch of the Storfjorden from which the famous Geirangerfjord also branches. The town has an impressive cascade, the Hellesyltfoss, running right through the middle, between two bridges. There are a number of traditional houses and buildings right in town, and the slopes of the fjord surrounding the town also hold traditional farmsteads scratched out of remarkably difficult topography. Your ship will stop to enable a dramatic optional highway excursion between Hellesylt and Geiranger, on some of the most scenic roadways anywhere on earth.
