The Botanical Dry Garden is situated in Southern Tuscany, not far from Porto Santo Stefano and welcomes one thousand five hundred Mediterranean species of plants and trees that need little or no irrigation to survive. That’s why it is a sustainable project. The Dry Garden is a place where the universal language of arts and love for landscape merge in a unique ensemble, able to inspire deep emotions. The founders refer to themselves as to Oxigen producers. In this rural area it is more traditional to produce olives or grapes. Botanical Dry Garden is a cultural hub stemming out from innovative minds.
The Dry Garden is the expression of a new way of gardening and approaching nature. The garden was created to identify a large area where thousands of varieties of plants can live in a natural way. What these plants have in common is their ability to stand long period of drought, to survive the little rainy Mediterranean summers and the strong temperature ranges. Here, there is also an Art space, a garden where you can find contemporary art works. After the guided tour, by an expert botanical host, you can enjoy some time at leisure in the Dry Garden to take pictures, relax or walk barefooted... before resuming the drive to the port.
