Archaeological Site of Olympia
Travel from ancient ruins to sun-kissed sand on this walking tour.
A 30-minute motorcoach drive from the harbor brings you to Katákolon -- the gateway to Olympia.
Your first destination is the Olympia Archaeological Site, home to the ruined Temple of Zeus which once housed the Statue of Olympian Zeus -- one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The Temple of Hera is yours to explore, as is stadium where the Olympics began nearly 1,500 years ago.
Reboard the motorcoach and head to Kourouta Beach, one of the most famous beaches in the area. The sands stretch for more than 10 miles, washed by the crystalline waters of the Ionian Sea. The background is an unspoiled pine forest. Along the seafront are cafeterias and tavernas serving ouzo and traditional dishes. You're free to swim, stroll or simply relax under the warm Greek sun for nearly three hours.
Please note: A pre-reserved sunbed and umbrella is included. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience. Lunch is not included. You will have time to purchase lunch at your own expense during the tour.
