Embarking on a hiking excursion to the Mars River and the boreal forest of Saguenay, you'll find yourself enveloped in the tranquil beauty of nature. Pristine river water meanders through lush greenery, and the towering trees of the boreal forest whispered tales of ancient wilderness, offering a soul-stirring journey into the heart of Quebec's untamed landscapes.
From the Mars River trailhead, set out with your guide on a hike along a forest trail that leads through the amazing Bec-Scie Canyon. Viewpoints along the way offer sweeping vistas of breathtaking landscapes.
Your trained naturalist guide is delighted to interpret the environment all around you, and the fauna and flora that inhabit it. Watch for wildlife as you go. Black bears, squirrels, deer and avian inhabitants all call this habitat home.
Along the way, learn about the lifestyle and land-use practices of the indigenous peoples that live here.
Please note: Wear sturdy walking/hiking shoes. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Minimum age is 5 years. Dress warmly in layered clothing with gloves, a scarf, and a hat; outer layer should be windproof and waterproof. Bring a backpack to stow any layers you shed.
