Spend an afternoon with the animals at the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, where you’ll connect, observe, and learn about the wild and fragile species that live there. In many instances you will meet animals that have long became extinct in other parts of the world, including Tasmanian devils, Eastern quoll, Tasmanian bettong, and Tasmanian pandemelon. You’ll also have the chance to hand-feed kangaroos.
Next, step back in time with a visit to the historic Georgian village of Richmond. Established in 1825, the village features cobblestone streets, which you’ll walk as you check out buildings made of handmade brick and mellow stone, and quaint cottages and manors. Along the way, you’ll admire the fine Georgian architecture, the original courthouse, public buildings and churches, as well as the oldest bridge and jail in Australia. It's like joining the pages of history for an afternoon.
Please note:
Some areas of Bonorong are not wheelchair accessible, there are some slight inclines and dirt paths. Shade is limited; please dress accordingly. Bring a hat and wear sunscreen. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Tour does not operate on holidays.
