Go beyond the ordinary and experience the wonder of local marine wildlife surrounding Wrangell from the comfort of a high-speed catamaran. From the multiple viewing decks, keep an eye out for black-tail deer, bears, and bald eagles along the shoreline as your local skipper shares Wrangell history, flora and fauna. You will navigate to the best areas with the highest opportunity for marine wildlife spottings in these rich waters -- a chance to spot sea otters, sea lions, humpback whales, and/or orca (killer) whales.
Enjoy a snack and a cup of hot coffee when you come inside to warm up. Depending on the time of year, you may encounter fishing boats hauling in their catch from the sea.
Please note: Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. The tour route may vary due to weather, nature and water conditions. Terrain includes a marine ramp from the pier to the boat, which can be very steep at low tide. It is essential that you wear warm, layered clothing to fully enjoy and participate in this excursion. Outer layer should be windproof and waterproof. Bring gloves, a warm hat, and a scarf.
