Kenai Fjords National Park is located on the Kenai Peninsula in south central Alaska near Seward. It encompasses approximately 1,050 square miles of terrain, including the Harding Icefield, one of the largest icefields in the United States, which feeds 38 glaciers within the park. The Harding Icefield receives an average of 60 feet of snow annually, and approximately 51 percent of the park is covered by ice. These glaciers have carved numerous fjord valleys cradled between various ranges of the Kenai Mountains, that give the park its name. Your ship will venture into one or more of these fjords, depending on the ice conditions. The park is home to packs of wolves, moose, brown and black bears, lynx, and mountain goats, as well as sea otters, Steller sea lions, harbor seals, several species of whales and Dall’s porpoise and Pacific white-sided dolphins.
