Select 2025 sailings on Seabourn Encore will feature bespoke, curated onboard entertainment programs, featuring a star-studded line-up of performers and guest speakers

Seattle, October 24, 2024 – Seabourn, the leader in ultra-luxury cruising and expedition travel, has announced bespoke onboard entertainment programs featuring star-studded lineups of performers and guest speakers on select 2025 sailings on board Seabourn Encore. From March to April 2025, three sailings will offer exclusive, themed entertainment and Seabourn Conversations programs including “Writers & Writers”, thought-provoking sessions with bestselling authors and celebrated singer-songwriters; “Stars & Stars” a captivating blend of space and astronomy discussions and West End theatrical performances; and “Magic Moments” an enchanting sailing showcasing world-class magicians performing mesmerizing illusions and awe-inspiring acts.

“Writers & Writers” – 14-Day Southeast Asia & Japan – March 2-16, 2025

Seabourn Encore will sail on a 14-day Southeast Asia & Japan voyage from Singapore to Kobe, Japan, featuring a new port of call never before visited by the Seabourn fleet – Tokushima, Japan. The entertainment and enrichment program will celebrate the written word with bestselling authors and acclaimed singer-songwriters.

• International Bestselling Author, Louise Penny – Louise Penny is the author of the internationally bestselling series of 18 “Chief Inspector Armand Gamache” novels. She has won numerous awards, including a Crime Writers' Association Dagger and the Agatha Award (seven times), and was a finalist for the Edgar Award for Best Novel. Penny also co-wrote “State of Terror,” a successful political thriller, with former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

• Journalist & Award-Winning Author, Mellissa Fung – Mellissa Fung is a veteran journalist, bestselling author, and award-winning filmmaker known for her global reporting and documentaries. Her latest book, “Between Good and Evil: The Stolen Girls of Boko Haram”, debuted on the Canadian bestseller list in 2023, and her acclaimed first book, “Under an Afghan Sky”, detailed her harrowing experience as a hostage in Afghanistan. “Stars & Stars” – 25-Day Japan & Hawaiian Islands Pacific Crossing – March 16-April 9, 2025

Seabourn Encore will embark on a 25-day Japan & Hawaiian Islands Pacific Crossing from Long Beach, Calif., with a maiden call to Wakayama, Japan and the ship’s first visit to the U.S. During the ship’s sea days crossing the Pacific, the "Stars & Stars" themed entertainment program will offer captivating stargazing opportunities, while an expert astronomer, former NASA leader and West End stars deliver unforgettable presentations and performances at sea.

• Former Director of NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, Jim Kennedy – A 36-year veteran of NASA, Jim Kennedy led the team responsible for launching and landing the space shuttle and International Space Station. Now, he shares his profound knowledge of space exploration and leadership with audiences around the world.

• Physicist & Professor, Dr. Svetlana Barkanova – Dr. Barkanova is an internationally known researcher on a quest to discover the nature of dark matter in the universe. She is also an award-winning teacher and a popular public speaker who is passionate about science promotion and exploring the stunning beauty of the night sky.

  • Lauren Drew - Following debuts in the UK tour of “Ghost” and “Kinky Boots” at the Adelphi, Lauren has played a number of roles in the West End, including “Suzanne” in “Sweet Charity”, the understudy for “Eva Peron” in “Evita” (Regent’s Park Theatre) and “Cats”. Lauren is currently starring on the West End as Celine Dion in the hit musical, “Titanique.”

“Magic Moments” – 19-Day Panama Canal Passage – April 9-28, 2025

Seabourn Encore will embark on a journey from Long Beach to Miami visiting the iconic Panama Canal, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala; and Cartagena, Colombia.
