Depart the pier by catamaran for the cruise to Aride Island. Owned by the Royal Society of Nature Conservation, it is among the most striking of the Seychelles' granitic islands. The sheer escarpments offer spectacular views and photo opportunities. Aride is also home to frigate birds, brush warblers, roseate terns, red-tailed tropic birds, and large populations of noddy and sooty terns (wideawakes).
Stroll the nature trail for panoramic views of the surrounding islands and an opportunity to photograph the rare Wright's garden plant.
You will have free time to swim in the clear waters of the Indian Ocean or bask in the sun.
A barbecue-style lunch will be served on board the catamaran.
Head to the other side of the island for some bird watching before the return cruise to Praslin jetty.
Please note:
Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen and a hat. Bring bottled water. It is common to experience short tropical showers in this region. Wear sturdy non-skid walking shoes. Terrain includes uneven ground and exposed roots, as well as some steps. There is no jetty at Aride. Wear shoes that you dn't mind getting wet. Wrap photographic equipment/phones in a sealed plastic bag.
