Discover the peaceful splendor of nature on this adventure in the Serra da Bocaina. Waterfalls and green landscapes are the hallmarks of the Atlantic Forest.
Travel by four-wheel-drive vehicle through the Atlantic Forest, in contact with the nature and getting acquainted with the beauty of the local flora. Your guide will point out a Jequitibá -- one of the largest trees in the region named. Watch for Brazilian bamboo, bromeliads and other forest species.
Stop at the Pedra Branca waterfall -- one of highest waterfalls in the region.
From here, your drive will take you to the Engenho Pedra Branca Distillery. Here you will have the opportunity to taste Brazil's favorite beverage, derived from sugar cane. You'll learn all about the extraction and distillation process.
You will explore the Gold Trail area, where your guide will tell you about the gold mining that took place here.
Next up is the Tobogã Waterfall -- a pleasant place for photos.
View an exhibition of more than 300 species of bromeliads before you return the pier. Guests who wish to stay in town to shop or explore independently are welcome to do so, but must make their own way back to the ship.
Please note: Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Approximately one hour of walking is required over uneven surfaces and some inclines.
